Early 19th Century Swiss Enamel Chain

Early 19th Century Swiss Enamel Chain

C.1820-1830s. A delightful Swiss enamel and 18k gold chain. The chain consists of multicolor enamel and gold repoussé links. The original linkage shows no extra chain sections added. The enamel features a motif of 'birds of paradise', and the color patterns alternate with the combinations of 'black, red, green and blue' and 'royal blue' in the enamel links. The chain measures approximately 44 inches, and it measures 45 grams. We love the elegant look when it is worn as a single strand, yet the chain can also be beautifully doubled. Some old restorations are seen in the enamel work. Overall it is in good condition with the natural patina in gold.
